Steering Engineer (all genders)

You face challenges like

• designing and developing steering components from initial concept to PPAP, including but not limited to electronic power steering gears, steering columns, intermediate shafts, and individual steering actuators

• establishing requirements for components based on the needs of the vehicle (lateral dynamics, steering feel, crash, strength, durability, stiffness, corrosion, etc.)

• planning the technology roadmap of the steering system for future vehicles

• designing with excellence at both system and component levels, with great attention to every detail

• helping guide and lead other members of the chassis team in their design of steering components

• working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible

• coordinating virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs

• managing multiple complex projects in a demanding environment

You inspire us by

• holding a BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field

• having 2+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on the steering system

• personally designing steering components and/or systems from concept to PPAP

• demonstrating experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory

• showcasing proven 3D CAD, project leadership, and mentoring skills

• having hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly

• being experienced in technology, system, and supplier selection

• bringing design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience
