What you should know about the job

You face challenges like

  • the modeling, simulation, and analysis of flying fuel cell systems, in particular cryogenic hydrogen tank systems, fuel cell stacks, cooling system architectures, air supply systems, and hydrogen recirculation systems at system level

  • the creation of models for relevant balance-of-plant components and the development of sizing and design routines for BoP components

  • the development of system architectures including derived aspects such as weight, safety analyses, and performance, as well as the execution of system optimization studies

  • the planning and execution of system simulations, system and subsystem analyses, and system design, including dimensioning and breakdown to subsystems, trade studies, and architecture development in collaboration with MBSE and, where applicable, external suppliers

  • the leadership of selected simulation projects within the product domain, ensuring compliance with agreed budgets and schedules, as well as the coordination and management of simulation activities

  • supporting the validation and verification strategy and the preparation of pre-test predictions

  • simulation-based analysis and interpretation of test results

  • contributing to the development of control and automation concepts

  • close collaboration with external technology partners, research institutions, and suppliers

  • the preparation of publications and presentations, as well as representation at technical conferences

You inspire us by

  • a completed university degree in aircraft systems engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a comparable field of study, preferably with a focus on systems

  • your experience in the field of fuel cell technology

  • your strong analytical and structuring skills

  • your scientific curiosity and creativity combined with a clear sense for what is feasible and essential when solving complex technical challenges

  • your enthusiasm for working in cross-functional teams and with external stakeholders

  • your experience with system simulation tools such as MATLAB Simscape, Modelica, or comparable tools

  • your basic knowledge of control engineering

  • your programming experience in MATLAB, Python, or comparable languages

  • business-fluent German and English skills
