Materials Engineer (all genders) Aluminum

You face challenges like

• the analysis, optimization, and standardization of processes in aluminum gravity die casting

• the design, evaluation, and continuous optimization of gating systems and feeder systems to ensure low-turbulence mold filling and directional solidification

• conducting casting trials to optimize melt and casting parameters as well as gating and feeding concepts

• optimizing the melting operation process in terms of melt quality, temperature control, melt treatment, degassing, grain refinement, and melt cleaning

• analyzing and sustainably avoiding typical aluminum casting defects such as oxide inclusions, non-metallic inclusions, porosity, microporosity, and cold shuts

• optimizing process parameters such as melt temperature, casting temperature, mold temperature, casting speed, and solidification conditions

• evaluating and optimizing tools in terms of heat balance, cooling, venting, as well as gating and feeding technology

You inspire us through

• a degree in materials engineering, materials science, or a comparable qualification

• several years of experience in the design and optimization of gating systems and feeder systems considering mold filling, solidification, and feeding

• initial experience in the metallurgical evaluation of melts and in handling analysis and testing methods (e.g. density index, spectral analysis, metallographic examinations, X-ray testing)

• excellent knowledge of the melt metallurgy of aluminum alloys

• your ability to quickly integrate into a new team and complex environments

• your excellent German language skills
