What you should know about the job

You face challenges like

  • collaborating on early concept development and defining vehicle product feasibility

  • developing and optimizing optomechanical components for function, form, and cost

  • coordinating with cross-functional teams for assembly, appearance, and fit balance

  • creating and validating engineering concepts, 3D models, and technical documentation

  • mentoring design engineers and leading design reviews throughout the development process

  • managing product development with suppliers and supporting design for manufacturability

  • driving iterative design processes, including benchmarking and alternative solution identification

  • ensuring legal compliance and product optimization through CAE, CFD, and Moldflow analysis

  • staying updated with emerging technologies and trends in optomechanical, lighting, and sensing domains

  • being the subject matter expert, guiding decisions on part integration and system interfaces

  • overseeing the full lifecycle of parts from concept through production and validation

You inspire us by

  • holding a degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or related field (Master’s is a plus)

  • having 10+ years of experience in automotive lighting systems, vision systems, or consumer electronics

  • bringing expertise in optomechanical components, plastics, composites, sheet metal, and electrical/electronics design

  • demonstrating proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 and knowledge in GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R

  • having experience in optical components manufacturing processes and cost-effective, cutting-edge solutions

  • being skilled in team collaboration, mentoring, and task prioritization in high-pressure environments

  • having hands-on experience in prototype and production assembly, and the ability to interpret optical simulation reports

  • being willing to travel for supplier and plant launches
