Wire Harness Design Engineer (all genders)

You face challenges like

• creating and maintaining 3D CAD of harness designs and relevant vehicle BOM in PLM

• working with schematics and mechanical teams to develop harness routing for optimal cost, vehicle assembly, and manufacturability

• preparing CAD and documentation for harness design releases

• ensuring all requirements are met and maintaining consistency with schematics

• maintaining the component library (terminals, connectors, cables, wires, etc.)

• engaging with suppliers to coordinate changes, create trial parts, and incorporate DFM feedback

• working with Quality Engineers on incoming quality checks and harness rework activities

• supporting escalated issues and participating in triaging with different teams and harness suppliers

• participating in the design of world-class engineering efforts for electric vehicles

• creating rework instructions as intermediate actions and providing permanent resolutions

• being willing to travel up to 20%

You inspire us by

• having a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

• applying technical analysis to component design

• identifying and communicating risks, mitigating, and driving issues to closure

• deeply understanding mechanical and electrical systems

• having the ability to build things with your hands

• demonstrating harness debugging skills

• bringing 3+ years of related experience

• having expert knowledge in harness 3D design and vehicle harness development

• having strong experience with 3DExperience Electrical workbench

• having harness packaging experience and knowledge of manufacturing
