Sr. CAD Engineer (all genders) - Seating Systems

You face challenges like

• conceptual design development, detailed design, and production release of Seating Systems assemblies and components

• creating CAD surfaces and solids, GD&T, and fastening design using Catia V6

• utilizing CAD methodologies, study files, slab models, and knowledge-based engineering

• managing system, subsystem, and component information in the Enovia PLM and Catia V6 environment

• ensuring all geometric requirements for milestone delivery are analyzed and met

• interfacing with studio, packaging, advanced engineering, manufacturing, and supplier activities to develop optimal design solutions

• being a champion of good, fundamental design in the Seating System and across the vehicle

• supporting the development of best practices for design and engineering

• collaborating with Interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery of Lucid Interior Components and Systems

• employing and developing effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the development

You inspire us by

• holding a Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline, or higher

• bringing 5+ years of experience in designing Seating Systems components

• demonstrating proven creativity within complex 3D virtual package environments

• creating complex CAD models in CATIA quickly and efficiently while maintaining CAD part, tree, links, and publications to an excellent standard

• having proven experience in processes involved with Seating Systems component design, such as foam molding for polyurethane foam pads, injection molding for plastics, and seating trim wrapping

• applying proven experience in common structural part manufacturing processes, such as metal stamping, extrusion, casting, etc.

• having a good understanding of the range of computational tools available to design engineers

• applying proven experience in GD&T and understanding how it applies to part, assembly, and customer requirements for gap and flush

• being highly proficient in CATIA V6

• displaying well-developed team-working and interpersonal skills

• demonstrating a great work ethic

• having valuable launch experience
